Photo shoot in London

Maple was asked to take part in a photo shoot for Argos down in London. I hadn’t been feeling well so didn’t fancy the drive so decided to get a train instead. Maple had done short train rides before but this would be her first proper long journey.

Got to the station nice and early so I wasn’t stressed and so she could toilet on the green before we went in. It was an ominous start as, whilst we were sat waiting on the platform, she had a slight freak out about a wheelie suitcase and had a bit of a bark. Luckily the owner of said case was clearly used to dogs so when I said she was just a bit scared of the it he stopped to allow her to sniff it. She quickly recovered and was then all wags and smiles as she said hello to the man, so a disaster was quickly averted. After this slight blip we boarded the train!

At first she was a bit curious about what we were doing but quickly settled. Even when we had to move slightly as the train got busy, she soon laid back down. Unfortunately it then meant there wasn’t enough room for her to lie under my chair fully but at least we were at the end of the train so other than the driver, no one was going to trip over her! We had a number of comments about her being so good and calm! (Yes the calm word was used to describe the mad ginger! Unbelievable!)

We arrived in London and I had a slight shock when I realised that we had come out right next to the hotel we had stayed at years before when I was in the BBC ‘search for Toto’ years before! I hadn’t realised it was so close to Euston station.

We then walked to the studio. On the way we were stopped by lots of people asking what breed she was and a couple of people even took pictures of her! Not many big dogs in London I guess!? Once at the studio we had to wait our turn as our friend Lucky the chihuahua was in first to have his photo taken. Maple patiently waited.

During the shoot she was a really good girl and did everything she was asked. The only issue was they clearly had a mouse/rat problem as every time we took a break she would stand pointing, like the HPR she is, at a little hole in the skirting board!

Afterwards we had a while before our train so we went to Regent’s Park to let her run off some energy and for me to have (a rather blustery) lunch.

Whilst I was eating the air ambulance landed in the park! Maple was a little nervous but nothing a few words of reassurance and a bit of chicken sandwich couldn’t fix! http://madmissmaple.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/img_6299.trim_.mov

We then made our way back to the station where she had the rather confusing moment of having to come with me to the bathroom, somewhere she is shooed out of at home!

We had to wait for ages for the platform as the train was late. It meant Miss Maple got to make eyes at the general public to persuade them to come and stroke her, which many of them did! Finally back on the train and she fell straight to sleep

What a busy exciting day for a young wirehaired vizsla.
